The slow evolution to value-based health care has long been driven by public sector initiatives. However, in recent years the private sector has taken the lead, as employers, retailers, and payers look to extract more value from the health care delivery system. This session will explore the most important forces reshaping the health care industry and discuss how new care delivery models seek to lower costs while increasing quality of care.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the forces destabilizing provider economics.
  2. Discuss new delivery models that are emerging due to the evolution of value-based care.
  3. Describe the strategies both the private and public sector are employing to bend the health care spending curve.
