Financial Operations Track

Identifying cost improvement opportunities by developing analytics capability, developing consultative skills to partner with different business areas to identify opportunities, and leveraging technology and external benchmarking to highlight and showcase gaps are key opportunities when developing an action plan to execute savings opportunities.  Measuring savings and getting them validated by Finance is critical to building credibility of supply chain as a financial steward of the company.  Sourcing savings are often perceived as soft savings as the P&L impact is not clearly demonstrated by supply chain.  Designed to target executives with direct responsibilities for financial management, contract negotiation and product pricing decisions, the sessions in this track will help you develop and implement financial strategies that will provide a positive impact on both patient experience and the bottom line.

In an ideal world, benchmarking supports open comparison and sharing that allows organizations to continuously improve and transform. Is benchmarking fulfilling that objective in your organization?   Measuring and validating savings with Finance is critical to building credibility throughout clinical and supply chain operations. Key indicators for one vertical do not always equal value for another.

Learn how to more accurately establish savings goals, measure them, and identify opportunities for improvement with Finance as a partner in validation.  Part two of this session will explore the use of metrics and the wealth of information they can provide in the highly variable procedural area.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify strategies to ensure clinical and supply chain operations are aligned with finance and align on a common definition for savings.
  2. Discuss the way information is entered into a system can directly impact the accuracy of data and information.
  3. Specify innovative processes for decision makers that positively affect financial outcomes.
