A Basic Understanding of Clinical Data and Its Influence in Value Analysis
Cook Medical presented a comprehensive discussion into how and why clinical data is important. Members from the Association of Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) shared their experience and knowledge as it relates to value analysis. Clinical research scientists who collect data and design clinical trials were also present.
The Value of Clean Data in Supply Chain and Clinical Environment
With the rapid expansion and use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) across the healthcare continuum, supply chain data, specifically the item master, is evolving to become a strategic asset. This data is being leveraged to support clinical documentation and patient billing, including supply and implant capture at the point of use. The result is a new set of challenges for supply chain.   GHX has made technology advancements to create a single portal experience for both providers and suppliers, to track orders and activity, and provide improved transparency into item data accuracy. Visibility to data accuracy at the item master level is key to the shared value and interaction between clinical and supply chain data. GHX empowers hospitals and suppliers to collaborate with real time business processes to ensure clean data from point of use through the procure to pay cycle.
Right Place, Right Time, Right Patient.  How Do You Know?
Have you been curious about innovative ways to manage supplies, track assets and pharmaceuticals, and ensure that the right item is in the right place for every patient, every time? Do you have a solution for some assets and products and want to expand your program cost-effectively?  Impinj's panel of experts shared how RAIN RFID technology is used to effectively manage supplies, assets drugs and other items across the healthcare supply chain.  Attendees learned about real-world customer deployments and understand how their organization could quickly derive benefit from these systems.
Using Data Science to Optimize the Supply Chain
Infor discussed how to remove guess work from your supply chain. To keep costs under control, you need inventory recommendations based on the many different needs of all of your hospital’s floors, care units, and patients. Attendees of this session learned how to methodically use algorithms to solve complex problems associated with inventory optimization within their supply chain.
Connect to A New View – The Evolution of Supply Price Performance
Research conducted by Vizient shows that when working cost reduction initiatives, 54% of effort is spent investigating and prioritizing which opportunities to pursue and only 16% of time is invested towards validating results.  Attendees of this session learned how the newest innovation in supply chain analytics solves this challenge for hospitals.
