2014 Fall IDN Keynote Speakers

Chuck Lauer
Healthcare Advisor & Policy Expert

Chuck Lauer welcomes to the IDN Summit stage four healthcare leaders who are placing a strategic focus on the supply chain and physician relationships. Hear from executives at Fairview Health Services, a non-profit health system in Minnesota and Pioneer Accountable Care Organization, and Palomar Health, the only California member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, as they outline physician leadership and engagement strategies. Fairview executives will discuss how physician leaders participate in their Supply Chain Executive Steering Committee and highlight examples of engaging physicians in different utilization efforts to eliminate unnecessary variation and drive savings through contracting strategies. Palomar Health executives have strategically improved communications between the medical staff and administration for necessary cost containment while benefiting all stakeholders.

Mallory Weggemann
2012 Paralympic Gold Medalist

Just two months prior to her 19th birthday, Mallory Weggemann went in to recieve her third and final epidual injection to treat back pain caused by postherpetic neuraglia. The epidural injections left Weggermann a paraplegic with complete loss of movement from her abdomen down. Four years later Weggemann set 15 world records and 33 American records as well as proceeding to win gold and bronze at the 2012 London Paralympics. Weggemann's story has inspired audiences worldwide that whatever circumstances we face, we choose daily whether we will allow those limitations to power over us or whether we will face down our challeneges in a jouney towards our own new mobility. Simply put, Mallory's story is incredible.
